Dr. Kelly has practiced in Macon for over thirty years and is one of the founding partners of Forsyth Street Orthopaedic Surgery & Rehabilitation Centers. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Dr. Kelly has served his profession as President of the Bibb County Medical Society, as President of the Georgia Orthopaedic Society, and as Chair of the Board of Councilors of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), an organization that represents over 30,000 orthopaedists world wide. He was selected to give the Welcoming Address to new members at the 2006 AAOS Annual Meeting and he was the 2006 recipient of the Georgia Orthopaedic Society's Distinguished Service Award. He has been selected for membership in the American Orthopaedic Association, an organization whose mission is to recognize leaders who will further the art and science of orthopaedic surgery.

Dr. Kelly has served as a member of the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and as Chair of the AAOS Communications Cabinet, coordinating the member communications and public relations initiatives of the organization. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Orthopaedic Research and Education Foundation, where he serves as a member of the Executive Committee.

Dr. Kelly is a member of many professional organizations including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Michael Hoke Society, the Willis C. Campbell Club; the Georgia Orthopaedic Society; the Medical Association of Georgia, the Bibb County Medical Society, and the Association for Arthritic Hip and Knee Surgery. He also serves as Chair of the 20th Century Orthopaedic Society.

Education:

Dr. Kelly is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he earned his degree in Chemistry. He received his M.D. degree from the Medical College of Georgia and served a surgery internship at the Baylor College of Medicine. Further training included a year of General Surgery Residency prior to completing his Residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Tennessee/Campbell Foundation in Memphis.
