Wood D. Pope, M.D.

Dr. Pope earned his Bachelor of Science in cellular biology at the University of Georgia in Athens and his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. He completed his internship and residency in orthopaedics at the University of Tennessee Campbell Clinic. During his residency he was elected from among his peers to serve as Chief Resident. Throughout his education Dr. Pope received numerous honors and scholarships. He was Phi Beta Kappa and recipient of the 1997 Alumni Scholar Award from the Medical College of Georgia.

Dr. Pope is a general orthopaedic surgeon. His particular interests include hip, knee, and shoulder replacement, sports injuries, fracture care, traumatic and degenerative conditions of the foot and ankle, rotator cuff and instability injuries to the shoulder, and tendon and nerve injuries of the elbow and wrist. He is a partner in Forsyth Street Orthopaedic Surgery & Rehabilitation Centers.

Dr. Pope is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons; the Georgia Orthopaedic Society; the Bibb County Medical Society; and the Medical Association of Georgia.
