Your knee is the largest joint in your body and as such is also one of the most often injured.    Your knee joint is made up of bone, cartilage, ligaments and fluid while your muscles and tendons help your knee move.   If any of these structures become hurt or diseased, the pain can inhibit your ability to perform even simple tasks.

While knee problems can be caused by injury or trauma, most often knee pain is the result osteoarthritis.    As you age, the cartilage in your knee gradually wears away, causing pain and swelling.   Additional injuries common to the knee are a torn Anterior Cruciate Ligament and Torn Cartilage.
