At Forsyth Street Orthopaedics, we provide prompt, high quality medical care to the injured employee and give the employer the information they need to return employees to work quickly and safely. To meet this need, Forsyth Street Orthopaedics responded by forming an advisory committee consisting of employers, insurance adjusters, case managers, and physicians to let us know what information they need when one of their employees becomes injured. Forsyth Street Orthopaedics responded to their input by developing our Workers Compensation program.

Workers Compensation at Forsyth Street Orthopaedics focuses on three elements: timely access, communication, and consistency.

Access / Treatment
Of the more than 40,000 workers' compensation injuries in the state of Georgia each year, 40 percent are musculoskeletal in nature. FSO physicians will see an injured employee within 24 to 48 hours after an injury. All FSO physicians offer same day appointments in their schedule to provide medical care for the acutely injured employee. Our physicians deliver efficient and effective treatment for all musculoskeletal injuries.

FSO Rehabilitation Services, on-site physical therapy is available at our Forsyth Street location.

Communication
When an employee is injured, the employer needs information fast. FSO physicians will complete a detailed Workers Compensation Physician Report form and will fax the information to the employer, insurance adjuster and case manager each time an injured employee is seen by a FSO physician. If an employee is unable to return to normal duties, the Workers Compensation Physician Report will outline the return-to-work restrictions so an employee can perform modified work while the injury heals.

The physicians at Forsyth Street Orthopaedics are available to meet with employers and tour workplaces to learn more about the type of jobs performed. This enables the physician to better direct an employee's post-injury care.
